Which Unreal Multiplayer C++ course?

Hi,

I have the original intermediate multiplayer C++ course which I got as part of a bundle.

I got a new email regarding a new co-op course.

What does this course cover that the original is missing? Is it worth getting?

The course is different but there is overlaps.
I’m not finished going through the courses but it depends on what you’re trying to achieve. The new course, so far anyway, covers a bit of theory and uses the third person template to demonstrate the various features and then goes on to create a co-op game whereas the original course covers steam and also how to implement multiplayer driving.

The theory in the original course is similar enough so you could start. I’d say the new one has the advantage over the fact it is using UE5. It all depends however. multiplayer is not a beginners topic and this is also an intermediate course. It doesn’t mess with setting up editors or teach you any C++ and the original doesn’t either.

I am not sure if this helps.

There is a little bit covered regarding sessions and setup for Steam, but the focus is on theory and the building blocks you need to build multiplayer games. Which is then shown in the co-op game section of the new course.
