What's the use of shortcut G G in blender?

Hello there, I get that the shortcut G is used to move objects, faces, vertex, etc. But what does the shortcut G G actually do? It’s also moving the vertex, edge but in a weird way that I can’t comprehend.

g is Grab to be moved
gg is Grab on a vertex, using the constraints of the vertex. Like moving it along one of the connected edges.

Use it on one vertex to study.
But using it on multiple vertices, then it can be tricky because it is then difficult to move it along several edges.

GG on a selected vert makes it move only on ‘rails’. Those rails being the edges it is connected to. It is incredibly useful!
