As the title says, which verrsion do i need for this course? I haven,t tried blender in sometime/

You don’t actually mention which course you’re taking, but in general, anything from 2.8 on is usable if you’re prepared to work out what’s different.
You can also usually find out which version the instructor is using just by looking for the version number at the bottom right of their Blender window. I’d opt for that if you’re feeling rusty, and it won’t hold you back later because you can have multiple versions of Blender installed at the same time anyway. Have fun with the course!

Which course?
I use Blender 4.1 release candidate without issues.
Some things are different, e.g., a menu item is located elsewhere, or key binds have changed. There is a whole threat listing the differences.
