What operating system do you use for Unreal? Does it work fine?

I’m asking this because I am starting the Unreal C++ course and I was wondering what are the benefits and drawbacks of using Unreal Engine 4 on Mac or on Windows? I know that in the past the Mac version of Unreal was not optimized and many important features were not available. Has this changed? (As a disclaimer, I’m don’t think I’m going to make any VR games soon so VR is not of importance.)

@enricodegan I was able to run Unreal Engine 4 on my Mac fine till about update 4.12 I think and after that any UE4 version i try to install crash and sometimes crash my MBP so i have just been sticking to Unity and i have a MBP 2011 i7 8gb 1tb
