What is the difference between placing assets on a Canvas object vs the camera box?

What is the difference if I drag an image to the camera object versus inserting the same object into the canvas box? They both still show up in the Game preview tab, but I noticed that the Canvas object is incredibly huge compared to the camera and want to know if there is any reason for this.

You may have already looked into this more but I had the exact same question. I found that these two videos that explain it pretty nicely. The first one is more about how the camera works and relates to the canvas while the second one is about getting a perfect pixel resolution to work with. (Which is going to help me a lot.)
