Just to clarify the InventoryItem prefab that was created under the InventorySlot it is just an image that was added that is turned on and off depending on if an item is collected and picked up. Is that correct? I am building my own mock basic inventory layout without any background or assets yet. I just want to have the basic design and system working correctly first.
Sounds like it to me, and the ‘InventorySlotUI.cs’ is literally just a script that handles what the Inventory slot image shows you (Inventory handles the hardcore logic that goes on behind the scenes)

Yes, it also becomes the image that is dragged around. It is the actual visual representation of what is in the Inventory at that slot location.
