What is it that Blender can't do?

I just have a questions, what is it that Blender can’t do?

I’m still relatively new to Blender. Started the Complete Blender course on udemy like 6 months ago, and right now having a lot of fun with sculpting. But I’m amazed, Blender can do so much that other software out there charge a premium price for.

What is Blender lacking according to your opinion, in comparison to similar software such as Maya, 3dsx max, Cinema 4d, Adobe After Effects etc. I was thinking about learning other software to compliment what I can do in Blender, but it feels like Blender can do it all.

Um, a 3d slicer? To export the files a 3d printer would use.

I think if it’s not already in Blender, you can find or buy an add-on.

Blender has many features, but some of them aren’t that good or rich in features.

Pro’s use Z-Brush to sculpt, jump back the Blender for mesh manipulations, then back to Adobe Substance painter for texture paint. All interchangeable.

I somehow am finding Quixel Mixer better for texturing. Adobe is way too pricey.

I think the specialists have ever less space to operate in. Blender can keep closing the gap, the same in various areas of software. New territory is ever smaller, a ‘lead’ becomes ever less useful.

Many things for now, like Mocap, but it is the process of evolution; and the evolution of 3D and XR is so much that no single software is able to handle everything.

Having said that, Blender is plugging holes extremely fast and many leaders are going bonkers gradually.

Blender can track video and merge 3D in it.
The old 2.79 course had a section “SFX”.
