Hi GameDEV Team,
First off, I just want to say thanks for upgrading the website! The new features and improvements are awesome.
I do have a few questions and suggestions:
- Certificates : When will certificates be added back? They were enabled on the old website, and I’m really looking forward to this feature.
- Hide Owned Courses : Can you add an option to hide owned courses from the store page? It would make browsing for new courses much easier.
- Udemy Course : There’s a course that hasn’t been added to Udemy yet(Blender 4 Sculpting Brushes: Create Amazing Sculpts Quickly). Do you have any plans to publish it there?
- Instructor Filters and Profiles : There is no filter by instructor or profile page for each instructor. This would be a great addition to help find courses by specific instructors.
Additionally, I noticed a couple of issues:
-
Dashboard Filters : When I try to filter courses and assets using the type drop-down menu, the function doesn’t seem to work correctly—both courses and assets are shown regardless of the selection.
-
Items Per Page : When I change the items per page and reload the page, the value resets to the default (20).
Thanks again for all your hard work! Looking forward to your response.
All the best
I’m having the opposite issue (in that I can’t turn auto-play on for videos).
I was hoping the option would appear under video or account settings, but I see no way to turn it on/off.
Old site was very counterintuitive and you did some improvements.
But I don’t know if every changes were good one.
For Courses linked discussion with ability to show and see work related to lecture was my inspiration to continue courses. I will not go to forum separately to post my progress, I go to next lecture.
Also dashboard to be on pull menu is silly considered that tab have two different shop link (overall navigation is little funky).
My course progressions are also gone
Positive note: Site is easier to use and more coherent than old site. and transition was successfully executed without real data loss. ( There have been web site that lost data with monetary value during uprages).
The new platform looks solid so far. I’m missing a few things, though:
- The video player does not remember the playback position from the last session after the browser was closed, this was very convenient.
- The ability to mark whole courses or sections as done/watched.
- Progress from before is gone, which wouldn’t be too bad if we got 2. to quickly fix this ourselves.
Please keep up the good work and I’m excited to see some improvements to the new platform!
Again, Kudos on the port. Was back into my courses the very next day. Appreciate some things are still being sorted out. A couple of comments:
- I’ve posted in other forums, will mention here. it has become challenging trying to track down issues with the comments associated with each course no longer available beneath each lecture on the new website. I am finding that recovering previous posts on a given lecture involves searching with tags through the entire forum databases, which is challenging. Is there a plan to reunite the past posts for each lecture to the new site?
- Are we no longer able to edit posts under lectures? I’ve made a few posts - but don’t see an edit option.
Cheers!
Ipad
Unable to make video full screen
No option to enable / disable auto play, by default is not to play
Course doesn’t remember ( resume) where you left off
No historic forum posts under each course section
Pc win 11
Adding a bing shortcut to your website to the desktop calls the web app shortcut dashboard , it should call it GamedevTv
No option to enable / disable auto play, by default each video starts to play ( very annoying)
Course doesn’t remember ( resume) where you left off
No historic forum posts under each course section, this very very frustrating
Adding a new post disappears completely after being sent and no category option between ask / show / other is available
Pros
The new layout is a bit better than before, the sort by content is good addition
Overall
Honestly it feels if as if the website has gone backwards in overall functionality and some of these issues could of easily been tested before production rollout.
Would be good if Gamedevtv can acknowledge all our feedback and provide some top action list in priority in a summary fix schedule for us to all see.
At present, I won’t be doing anymore new courses on this platform till these issues addressed
The new site was slated to go live on 17 May 2024. Hoping to avoid a lot of the “New Site” issues, I waited until 27 May 2024 before attempting. Right off the bat, I experienced some surprising issues:
-
I purchased the “Lifetime” Membership. On the old site, new courses were shown as available. With the new site, EVERY course is requesting that I purchase in order to take them. Looking at my account information , the is NO indication I am a Lifetime Member.
-
Unable to filter by application. On the old site, the “Dashboard” for the courses purchased could be filtered by the engine type (Unreal, Unity, Blender, Godot, etc.). This functionality is no longer available unless I logout; at which point, the option on the left for “Software” filtering becomes available.
-
Types (Assets, Courses, Bundles, etc.) are also unable to be filtered by, unless logging off the site.
-
Having to logoff in order to find the course you are interested in; copy the name of the course into a separate document/Clipboard; logging in to the site; searching for the name of the course you just located; and finally starting the course is NOT easier than it was on the old site.
-
If I login and search for a course name that I already know; apparently I can open the table of contents to see the overview of the course. As of the point in time when I am providing my initial reactions to the site, I have not attempted to take any course.
-
While I do understand that it was communicated, many times, that the content was not going to be migrated (to be honest, I liked the idea, as it forced me to re-visit older content that I may have forgotten about); there is no ability to filter/sort types based on their completion (For example, a simple: Complete, In process, Not started). This forces us to track all this in an external application. The old website provided the option of at least SORTING by completion.
-
Personally, I find it more difficult to find the courses I am looking for. As a beginner with Unity, I am looking (at first) those courses taking you from the empty project to final product. In the old site, it was easy to identify; the names of the courses have changed to make it harder to location (for example: the course Complete C# Unity Game Developer 3D Online Course has been renamed to Complete Unity C# Developer 3D Bundle (assuming I found the correct one) AND Complete Unity 3D Developer Megacourse: Design & Develop 3D Unity games From Scratch).
-
Some courses cannot be found, for example: Unity 3D Video Game Kit Introduction Online Course. Even searching for just Game Kit, there are no responses. This course used The Explorer: 3D Game Kit to cover such topics as player movement, terrain/level building and such. The new site apparently does not provide a method of searching for topics covered.
-
The art courses are severely lacking in content on the new site. The old site offered such courses as Blender Character Creator v2.0 for Video Games Design Course and Blender Environment Artist: Create 3D Worlds Online Course that provided a start to finish of creating, modeling, exporting and finally importing into the engine of choice. I spent 30 minutes trying to find something similar on the new site; based on the 5 courses for Blender that appear using the software filter for Blender, NONE of the descriptions even highlight exporting/importing the final solution.
I understand that there would be some “hiccups” when rolling out a new site; as a software developer, I more than understand this is all but standard; however the lack of at least the same functionality as the previous solution does not bode well with me. In 1 weeks time, these major exclusions should have been resolved; if not, at least a communication to the community regarding the known issues that did not make it into the solution by release time would have been a step in the right direction.
Before this update, I would tell anyone and their mother to first start here when looking to learn Unity, Unreal, Godot, Blender, etc. At this point, anyone I direct to this site will most likely turn away. My hope is that the quality of the classes has not deteriorated; however reading some of the other reviews (such as no direct link to the course community) does not look good.
It sounds like you are describing the products page. Did you click the little house icon in the upper right corner? It takes you to your dashboard. I too am a lifetime member and all of the courses and asset packs show up for me. There are about 100 items. The product page only has 58. Some of the things you are looking for are archived courses which will show up in your dashboard and not the products page. The courses that you think were renamed are actually bundles. Go to the dashboard and they will be there (They did not change any names or remove any courses with the move). It took a few days for all of the content I own to be on my dashboard, but it is all there now.
Hello,
Just adding a few other observations to help with the debugging. Please advise if there’s another forum that would be appropriate to share insights.
I have been posting comments underneath the lectures, and noticed a few things. Mentioned a few times the lack of historical comments. My new observations would be:
- Preview code before posting - I find with the code insertion the horizontal width is fixed and it is difficult to see any lines that indent or run past the window. I can scroll up and down, but not left and right
- Although the code formatting seems to work when composing the message, when the message is published underneath the lecture, all the nice formatting seems to go away and it is difficult to read the code snippets - it is all plain text with no formatting. Is there another way we should be posting code snippets underneath the lectures?
- I am not able to find an edit button so being very careful with initial posts as I don’t want to litter the lecture notes with edits and revisions. Will there be a feature wherein someone can edit what they posted to a lecture?
Hope the above is helpful, and again, please advise if there is another forum where bug reports like the above should be posted.
I just checked a couple of courses and they ran OK. Maybe something on your end? Try again and if it does not work, submit a bug report.

Hi,
there have been some slight outage issues over the last little while after the migration which were highlighted to the team for investigation but appeared to work shortly after.
we do encourage and appreciate all our students helping each other out when no one else is around on the forums to feed back to the team and look into things
it is unfortunate that our new knowlegebase isnt fully populated yet and that it didnt help on this occasion.
Understandably it’s frustrating when not able to access the learning material, but we do ask to show a little restraint when issues arise, frustrating as they may be.
Is it single lectures that are not loading correctly or is it all lectures you tried?
Thanks for the update! I didn’t post earlier, but if helpful for diagnosing, I had a brief outage to access on Friday night - tried different computers, browsers, and networks and could not access any content - current, previous or other. But later that evening, some of the content came back - and Saturday and Sunday (US EDT)- no issues - been working through material just fine. So, from my vantage point - just looked like a hiccup for a few hours on Friday night.
Thanks again for the update and appreciate the lift to move the entire KB over!
Hi Nova,
I am sorry to hear that you have had an issue with the iframe media message being displayed.
The information that TheproCoder provided would have been the information that a moderator provided although i think the wording is a little inaccurate on the link.
Where it states “disabling” it should probably read “Shut off” as some VPNS such as NordVPN although it has been disabled still get detected by the video player so unless you actually stop the program running entirely then it still blocks the video.
I will put a reminder here to keep things civil and certain behaviours will not be tolerated such as rudeness and also flagging those posts of people only trying to help.
In time this forum will likely become unattended by the TA’s as they will be focused on answering questions on the new platform and so most of the interactions will be from your peers.
I ask you bear that in mind when formulating replies.
I have just begun taking courses so I have no comparison to the old platform. So far everything is working as I expect it to.
This may be the wrong place to request this and if so I apologize, however, is it possible to add a “Next Lecture” button inside the player so when it is full screen I am able to pop over to the next video without having to leave and re-enter full screen?
Thanks for the great content!
It should auto play but I’ll check anyway and flag it up.
Thanks for the suggestion
Edit. I think there is a form here for posting a help for a request.

Am I able now to migrate owned courses to Udemy?
Am I missing something? On the old site we were able to post our progress to the forum per lesson and get classmates’ feedback and such. It really assisted in getting confidence and moving along - it felt like you were part of a class. Now it feels very solo and alone. Sure, you can post in the QA section below the lesson, but you don’t seem to get notifications or anything if you get any feedback.
Where did the class forum integration go? I do not want to keep the forum open in another window and manually navigate to class areas and post manually. This seems like a step backwards from the old site.
Is this integration there still and I’m just missing it somewhere?
I Also noticed this, and I agree, because other people who have completed the course are taking a different course can also not see that you posted there. So if someone has a problem, Other students can’t help them which is a shame.
I would like it intergrated back in if that is the case but im not sure how they are going to handle this, I think they want to change the forum to more of a hang out space or something unless i misinterpreted because people go to discord for help and such but i would rather not use discord, as i prefer a forum structure as it keeps things more organized.
so I also agree and would like more clarification on this.
