Welcome to the Unity Section 1 sub-forum

Hi @Jack_Franklin, I noticed you mentioned you were from the Bristol/Bath area, I also live in Bristol. I thought I would share with you a link to a regular meet up which takes place monthly near the centre of Bristol for Unity developers. I don’t run it, but I have attended on a few occasions and found it to be very interesting. There is also a member of the Unity team (one of their technical writers) who attends fairly frequently. There’s normally a talk, followed by a show and tell session, then they all go off to a local pub.

Details here in case you are interested: http://www.meetup.com/Bristol-Unity-Game-Developers-Meetup/

The organisers and attendees always seem very friendly and I found it was a great source of information/ideas - plus it’s free. Spaces are limited to 30.

Hello!

My name is Kirsten Brown, and I have a BFA in Computer Art from Northern Michigan University. While going to school, I studied 3D modeling and animation and have worked in Unity. However all of my Unity experience has been focused around dragging 3D models in and walking around with a basic first person controller. I’m excited to make my games more interactive and learn the programming side of game development! I bought this course for the black Friday sale and am very hopeful that I’ll learn some new skills

Hi everyone! Thank you for having me.
My name is Bryan and I’m brand new to game development in general.

I’m 25 and currently serve active duty in the US Army as an Infantryman. Developing video games has been a dream of mine since the Nintendo 64 days, and I aim to make that dream a precise reality that I can transition into when I get out of the military in 2019. I hope to make plenty of friends and aquaintances in this active community.

Hello everyone,

My name is Pim, 36 y/o and I’m from the Netherlands.
I’m really new at coding and really don’t know anything about it, but I’m willing to learn and teach myself as much as I can.
I bought 4 courses today, and I’m going to try to finish them before the end of this year. It will be a tough thing to accomplish since I’m a father of two and working as a freelance event manager.
But I’m going to put my hours in and do my best! Hope to see you “in class”

Kind regards,

Pim Ausems

Hello there.

My name’s Matt. I’m from Western Australia and I’m 19 years old. This year I have been working and saving to hopefully travel soon. I was doing a game design major at university last year but had chosen to defer for financial reasons. I look forward to getting stuck into this course and hopefully swapping some ideas and solutions with you all.

Hi! My name is Valeria and I am originally from Montevideo, Uruguay. I currently reside in the U.S. and recently married an amazing man who opened my eyes to the wonders of game developing. Though I have always loved games (my ultimate loves and preferences being the Monkey Island series, Chrono Cross, and all Final Fantasies), I love the idea of utilizing my story telling capabilities together with, hopefully, my future game developing capabilities to create heart-warming stories together with my 3D modeler and animator husband. I look forward to having the assistance of those that know unity and dip my toe in this exciting field.

Hello Everyone, My name is Terry and I’m 37 years old living in Vancouver, BC Canada.
I have always had an interest in IT as I love all types of technology; I’m a PC support specialist / consultant by design but although I took computer science in school I never really pursued anything.
I have a strong love for music and games so I think this would be a very valuable experience going forward. I have been playing PC games sine about age 9. Currently my wife and I are addicted to World of Warcraft.
This looks like a great course and I’m excited to get to it.

Hi all! I’m Kazhik and I’ve just started (sort of) messing around with Unity as a bit of a more productive hobby than sitting around doing nothing all day. I’ve done some of the tutorials from the Unity website so I’ve got a little bit of experience, but it’s been a long while and I’ve forgotten a lot - not that I knew much to begin with! I can’t wait to sink my teeth into this course and get to know some of you guys as well.
