Weird artifacts on chrome

Hi I did the Chrome for the Asset Library lesson and I peer at the Cycle render of the Chrome and I still get weird things.


It’s like it’s not fully rendering?

It certainly looks like that. I’m sure there’s other stuff that might cause this, but you could try going to Render Settings in the inspector and playing around with everything in the Sampling panel (for Renders of course, but changing the viewport settings first might be faster for testing).

You mean pixel noise?

It’s Cycles doing this.
Not all samples (rays) hit the surface enough (dark areas, etc.).
Increase Cycle samples to 64, 128, 512, 1000 …
But that will cause a huge amount of render time.

Better to switch ON Cycles denoiser!

That said, the denoiser can make the image blurry at low samples.
You need to fiddle per project how you use your sample and noise settings
