WALK MODE: When in walk mode, this wasn’t demonstrated in the lecture but I can actually pan around with my mouse which is great since walk mode is alot easier to control than fly mode in this regard, however the movement is very slow and I’m not sure what’s causing it. When I hit w,a,s or d it just moves very slowly.
FLY MODE: still gettng used to this but the sensitivity may need to be reduced, it’s flying all over the place with even the smalled mouse movements.
The 2.78 version allows you to control the movement speed (in both Fly and Walk modes) with the scroll wheel.

You can also change the speed setting in the user preference.
Not getting the dolly mode to work nicely
This is already a year old so maybe nobody will be interested, but as a small addition to the answers given here, the shift-key has a similar function as walk/run in games (so you have 2 speeds without using the scroll wheel)
