I can confirm that Volume Scatter appears to provide better control over the fog.
If you’re using Blender 3.0, a Principled Volume is a bit wacky. You might find yourself using the same values as in the lesson, but you apparently need to change the Emission color as well.
I was taken a back at first, because the Fog cube was enveloping the entire model, which meant that I lose the darkness from the World color.
