I deleted the bottom vertices of what would become the thin end of the wedge, stretched the top and then moved the “top” to the bottom of the grid. From there I filled in all the faces. Basically I made an unnecessary step, should have deleted the “top” and stretched the bottom but i’m having a lot of fun learning from these mistakes.

In Blender there is really no right or wrong.
