I’m using blender 2.93.4, in the part where I tried to follow the instructions on using edge select, and then select the edge and move it by 2 meters, using the hotkeys G,Y, 2. it just move the edge line out by 2 meters, whereas in the video, when the edge of the bottom plane is moved by 2 meter, the entire plane is stretch out by 2 meters.
is there a step that I missed? or is blender 2.93.4 has different type of steps?

? But if you move an edge, the connected plane is stretched !?!
We really need full screenshots to have any understanding of where you are at and what you are trying to do.

Yes, Blender can be confused sometimes, because of the strange hot-key combinations when you start learning Blender. A restart is the best way.
