I was able to get the using TMPro statement by downloading the “Import TMP examples and extras” from Windows-> TextMeshPro.
The ‘TextMeshProUGUI questionText’ will still show as red but it will run anyways.

I’ve upgraded the vscode package and did steps to reinstall the ui package and then I regenerated all the project files in the preferences and that seems like it fixes everything.
