Unreal keeps crashing when i try to open the project

After I had made the changes shown in the videos my unreal crashed and when I tried to reopen the project it continuously kept crashing…pls help me as I am not able to continue my project

  1. Open your code files in other program/notepad, remove/comment out code changes that you’ve made after the last successful compilation.
  2. Remove Binaries folder under your project’s directory.

If you remove the code, you also need to rebuild. Open the code in the editor you are using and recompile after commenting out the changes. Then try opening the editor again.

If you’re really stuck, look at the end of lecture code in GitHub and see what’s different.

When i do ctrl shift b (I think that’s how you build) i get numerous options to choose. What should i choose?

Should be rebuild. I can’t really help much with code as I don’t use it.

Now when i try to open the project in ue4 it says

Building_Escape

Would you like to rebuild them now?

And then when i cilck on yes it says

Starting to build show log

And then it says

Building_Escape could not be compiled. Try rebuilding from source manually

Would need to see the log to help you further. It should be in Saved > Logs.

That says you’re missing a ; on line 43 of OpenDoor.cpp.

From VS Code

Ctrl + Shift + B > ProjectNameEditor Platform Development Build

Where ProjectName is the name of your project and Platform is the platform you’re targeting e.g. Win64

ok, I tried that and then i tried to open it up it says the same thing

Are you sure you used the right task? There’s two development build tasks

ProjectName Platform Development Build
and
ProjectNameEditor Platform Development Build

You need the Editor version as that’s the one you’re trying to open.

I found the problem

after building I went through terminal in OpenDoor.cpp. It was showing an error
So i read through it i found that there was an error in this line

UE_LOG(LogTemp, Warning, TEXT("%s"), *GetOwner()->GetActorRotation().ToString());
UE_LOG(LogTemp, Warning, TEXT(“Yaw is: %f”), GetOwner()->GetActorRotation().Yaw);

It was saying that it was missing a “{” so i deleted the line and then built it again and then tried to open the project and then it opened.
