I just started a course on Unreal Engine. I downloaded Unreal Engine 5, but when I opened a new project I got the following message: “Video memory has been exhausted (744 MB over budget). Expect extremely poor performance.” I have a Xiaomi laptop. I started watching a video on YouTube where they say to adjust something in the BIOS Setup. But when I entered the BIOS menu, I didn’t quite understand what to do there. Below is a photo of the BIOS menu on my computer. Please tell me where I need to click in this menu or what I can do to clear the error or increase the amount of video memory used.
I assume this is integrated GPU as opposed to a dedicated chipset? The ideal setup is a dedicated graphics card and I would say 6-8GB of dedicated memory for that card. Integrated chipsets usually only allocated 1-2GB so will not offer the best performance.
Thanks for the answer. Did I understand correctly that my laptop has a weak GPU and there is no way I can fix it? Or do I need to buy an additional video card to fix this?
You can’t really upgrade laptops. It’s the main reason I always used a desktop instead. It isn’t that it is weak, just that it may be limited in it’s capabilities.
Thanks for the explanation.
