Randomly when I’m using UE 5.1, the editor will crash, not when I’m doing anything specific, just randomly. I have tried searching the problem but I haven’t found any fixes that worked.
I have tried:
Editing the tdrdelay registry keys to make them 60
Ensuring graphics drivers are up to date
Resetting my nvidia control panel settings
Updating my bios
Updating Windows
Obviously restarting my computer
Ensuring that the problem wasn’t related to just one project.

Crash in runnable thread RHIThread
This looks like a driver issue. Make sure you are up to date with your gpu drivers. I see you mentioned this and that you have nvidia which means you’ve tried this. I did see on another thread that setting the project to use dx 11 solved their engine issues. That may be worth a try.
Okay, I just tried that however, I did randomly crash again, this time with no crash log though. Not sure if it was a fluke or not.

Can confirm, this is not a fluke, it has happened multiple times now. Still no crash log.

Ok. In this instance, it could be an issue with the install.
I assume you are not using a preview release. If so, switch to 5.2 as 5.3 will most likely have issues.
The, try a repair of the install and if that fails, remove the install for the given engineand ensure the folder is empty on your machine for that version before reinstalling. Also perform a minimal install (no extras like android etc) and see if that works.
Just reinstalled the editor and played around with a project for a bit. So far no crashes, I think it worked. Thanks so much for the help.
