Unable to load cloned unreal project for 64. Cloning and Building our Code

EXPECTED:

Double click BuildingEscape.uproject launches Unreal

OBSERVED:

First an ‘missing modules’ dialogue with option to rebuild, then on accept rebuild option a build error with no details.

HAVE TRIED:

  • Looking for logs
  • performing the c# updates as specified in the video (although seems unrelated)

HAVE NOT TRIED

Platform: OSX 10.13.3
Unreal: 4.19.1

I had missed the end of the video about [re]generating the XCode project when I posted my problem above. Following the video’s steps for generating the project I now have a different error

EXPECTED

[right click unreal project] => Generate XCode project rebuilds the XCode project

OBSERVED

Fails with errors (full log in gist)

PLATFORM: OSX 10.13.3
UNREAL: 4.19.1

TRIED

  • checkout to the exact version specified in the video (‘generate’ failed)
  • make the changes described (diffs from 'upgrade to 4.18 commit) (‘generate’ failed)
  • revert those changes with another checkout (‘generate’ failed)
