Thought It might just be useful to mention that if you have accidently overridden a stylesheet setting on a particular hierarchy object (i.e.; height), you can actually unset the overrides in the right click dropdown on the parameter in question. (Like with prefabs the overridden parameter will also be bolded on the hierarchy object, so its a good place to check when something is acting strange.)

An excellent tip. Inspector Overrides are great until they start producing unexpected behaviour.
