Typical Brick Breaker

Similar to what was created by Ben. Not anything mind blowing. I have a different paddle and different brick but most things are the same. I changed the physics in the game because I didn’t like the way it moved using Ben’s physics. I also upped the randomness of the ball more because I would still find my ball getting stuck in boring loops which makes my ball move differently. I made this using Unity 5.5.03f which was a real challenge trying to get the code to work appropriately. Here is the link:

Known issues:

  • After uploading to the web the sound of the breaking of the bricks has dissapeared. Works fine in Unity play test
  • After uploading to the web the physics moves faster than the on the Unity play test
  • No smoke after bricks blow up because I couldn’t figure out the code in Unity 5.5.03f version

I like that you made the paddle bigger, most just copy the size of the instruction video but imo that one is too small to make the game enjoyable.

Regarding the smoke, this was mentioned over on the Udemy QA part maybe this coulde be of help:

Only thing you might want to add is that since there’s no level select, if the player dies and clicks play again go straight to Level 1 and skip the start screen.
