Trouble Parenting mesh to bones

Hello All. I’m having trouble with parenting mesh to bones( animated lamp). All transform as been apply. I remade a few time the armature as well undo parenting over and over but every time neither the lower arm (bone) become the center of the rotation or the Lamp Stem not connect with others parented mesh? A bit lost

First image very appearance is of the mesh object not being parented to the bone, or perhaps the right bone.

Second image suggests something off on the mirror point for the double arm.

Perhaps experiment in a new file with basic shapes and the same simple two bone armature set up.

I do that and it just works.

Use the empty to connect the base and the first bone!
Connect the first stem to connect to the first bone.
Connect the first arm to the second bone.

empty is parent of the lamp base and the first bone
The first bone is parent of the stem
The second bone is parent of the first arm

The empty moves them all. The base, the first bone.
The first bone moves the stem and the second bone.
The second bove moves the first arm.

Thank you for the tips. I did add empties and parent them to object then parent the empty to bone. So far it works. I still have to do more research and follow tutorials on the subject :slight_smile:
