I’m not sure why, but my baked version (right) looks significantly different to the original (left). I baked diffuse, roughness and normals. Normals I baked by setting the normal map to the diffuse colour and baking the diffuse colour, because setting it to bake normals didn’t work.
ahah, I figured it out, it looks the same if I render in cycles, but different with Eevee, because the baked version was baked in cycles.
Hmm, now there’s a difference even if I use cycles to render
original rendered 64 samples
baked 512 samples, rendered 64 samples
I was using the same pixar 128 for asphalt, and texture of gravel looked washed out in cycles, and even worse in evee. I guess you bake the texture out of it, or bake some texture out of the original.
Looking it again now I wonder if it’s the UV mapping which has changed, the brick texture on the left side in the baked version is similar to the texture on the arch (right) side in the non-baked version.
Don’t know what happened to the non-baked side in the non-baked version, though. The change in colours on the bricks seems to have gone.
