To be honest, on the black grass version, I did my own transparency trick. I didn’t follow Micheal’s solution. I thought, I can handle this.
But only the white texture map, with node transparency is rendered correctly. While others turn to black.
In view port material shading it’s ok. but not while rendering …

Followed the lecture on using the ALPHA channel as input of the TRANSPARENCY shader.
(I used the ALPHA channel directly as TRANSPARENCY … which doesn’t work when rendering).
(because its value isn’t transparent but 0 (black)).
