I think that having transcripts on GameDev.TV courses is a very good idea.
One can create notes faster this way. Furthermore, not all students are native speakers and several learning platforms already offer the feature.
It could also solve in some cases accent translation problems.

Most courses do have captions now on the new platform. As far as I’m aware, this will be done for all courses eventually (if we’re not already there) and all courses going forward, mostly in the name of increasing accessibility, which is awesome.
While I actually agree that full transcripts would also be useful in addition to the captions, it would require more infrastructure to facilitate, so I’m not sure this would be considered any time soon with everything the team is currently developing.
