It’s hard to see the steps. but I cut out parts of the tower to show them a little better.

Looks like a nice broken tower now and lets you see the stairs too as you said. Maybe a bit more light on the outside, and the inside one could be a bit less, maybe with a slightly red/orangy/yellowish color.
