Continuing to work on my toon shading. In this case because of the specific way the low poly models are being made, it’s a bit harder, but learning to make these objects quickly is really fun and I feel like I’m getting a better handle on recreating them with every pass through.
To get the ridges in the barrel, I just used the beveling trick from this section and kept their width very low. Then I assigned a texture with a shade darker than the shadow shade of the wood material.
Tried doing the same thing on the crate, but I think freestyle has an issue with the n-gons created in this model. I could fix it with just using marked edges, but good enough for now.
