Too much details

lesson: Mid Level Details - Body ( Blender Character Creator v2.0 for Video Games Design Course)


As you can see, the count of verts are a little too much for this stage, but I don’t know how I reached that amount.
There is a way to downscale it?
The pc is lagging so much but I think it’s too early to let it do it.

Probably took too big steps in remesh. Eager to add details. Sculpting is about taking small step, each time adding details. If you have problems now, then for sure it will increase further when adding details.

  • If you use the multires modifier, go steps back
  • Simplify the mesh by hand (remove loop cuts, merge verts - Use Dyntopy (dynamic mesh density)
  • Decimate modifier
  • Hide parts not working on the mesh
  • Check memory usage OS (disk swapping etc.)
  • Start simple, because it is probably your first sculpt, learn the process and capabilities of your machine

Yes, now you know your machine maximum. Manage your projects with this factor.


If experimenting in settings, do keep a backup!!

Thanks for the fast reply. It is indeed my second sculpt. I managed to decrease the vertices from 1M to 220k with dyntopo-> resolution 80. the resolution was at 220, I don’t know how.
