Tile pallette on import has full square gaps

I have tried importing a few times and I saw a thread with a similar problem describes, so I tried reducing the “pixels per unit” on the sprite import settings by 1 and hitting apply with no luck.

I believe I am following the tutorial precisely, can someone help me as to why I cannot proceed without this issue?

I had exactly the same issue. I tried to change the Pixel By Unit on the sprite this didn’t solve it. however you can move the tiles on the tile palette

  1. Click on the edit “button”
  2. use the select tool to select a tile (orange outline)
  3. use the move tool to close the gaps
