I had “hard” time to do rook. There was many end result that looked bad so this is my 7th attempt.
Around ~1.5h later I thing this is good enough

It’s all about the learning process. And I think it was time well spent.
Undo, redo, it strengthens your memory (hotkeys), work process, etc.
Mastering Blender is hard work.

This was your 7th attempt, but it looks better than the previous 6 right? So with every attempt you’re just getting better and better. Looks good. Keep on learning!

I will say it is time well spent. It looks great. Like FedPete and Gordon said, it is about learning new things and understanding the things you lean deeply. With every new attempt you will learn something new. And with practice you will become more familiar with the shortcut keys and your workflow will become easier and faster. Anyway great work and have fun.
