I really hate hands. Never have I clenched my fists so much from trying to create one. I finally, sfter 3 hours of failed attempt busted out an armature…deleted all but left hand and made it into a fist.

Are you sculpting them?
It is a lot easier modeling them. imo.

As NP5 stated, use block modeling as a starter!
- use a cube
- add three edge loops (fingers)
- extrude each individual finger face
