The case that the slope value is bigger than the function value

I’ve been thinking that in order for the slope to be larger than the function value, the increment in x has to be a fraction.

This is because when calculating the change in y, we do y2 - y1, and by subtracting y1, it always becomes smaller than y2 (the function value).

However, in the video, The teacher said that for the 3^d graph, the slope is larger than the function value at every point.

Is this true even when the increment in x is a whole number? I might be starting from the wrong premise.
