I thought it would perhaps not be as easy as it looks, e.g. the end result deliberately looking simplistic.

That picture reminds me of Little Shop of Horrors! I can see where you got the idea now Still, you brought it to life very nicely.
I read a book once long ago, I can’t even remember the name of it now. You could have a surgical have a port implanted and hook yourself into something like the web where you manifested virtually, which brings to mind all the VR stuff going on.

It has been so long ago that I can’t recall. It could have been but, my mind keeps thinking Tad Williams and Otherworld. I really couldn’t get into the book so didn’t get far with it. Loaned it to a friend I think.
