The Big Hello Thread!

Hello, My name is Sócrates Medina, I am Venezuelan but I live in Colombia. My aspirations are to learn as much as possible about video game programming. I fulfilled one of my goals which was being certified by Unity as a Unity developer. And I am very happy about that and I hope to learn even more with your courses.

Hey.

I’m Julian From VA. I’m currently taking a Udemy Unity Class and I one day want to make
open world shooters, sandbox, or RTS games. I’ve gotten a few basics down and in the next few weeks
I hope to have some of the skills necessary to make those types of games. I love programming and sitting
down and writing out a story.

Hi guys my handle is Clateman and I took this course a while back did not finish it yet I was doing some team tree house with java JavaScript and more I was in no hurry to complete this one but I do love making games its a passion of mine even if I am only making parts of games right now like small bits of code or sprites or sounds and working on putting them together. I am restarting this course to get a refresher than gonna spend days practicing what i learn.

Hello! My name is Tony and I develop multi-platform apps (mainly games) for mobile devices. After seeing some Unity developers show off some of the things they could do for HTC Vive and Oculus, I decided it is time to expand my horizons and build some VR apps. I will be targeting HTC Vive and Cardboard/Daydream, but am hoping all the VR devices are close enough to support more.

Hello everyone!

My name is Pavel and finally I am here, with free time to study amazing topic - game development.
Originally I am from Russia, but now I am living in Austria.
I have an experience in Python, Delphi, basic understanding of C/C++, but as long as I want to make games I want to focus on C++. In Unreal Engine I have experience with blueprints basically. I am working on my two projects (for mobile and PC gaming). And the purpose is to go from blueprints and (re-)do everything in C++.

This will be a tough time for me as long as my main job as a physicist takes too much time, but after I will finish it I will completely be in game industry.

Favorite game genre: RTS, RPG and a bit of Action.

Cheers,
P

Hey Driver,

I’m currently driving trucks also. I’m out of Atlanta, GA. My first career was in the computer/network field and after a failed attempt to start a business I ended up in the truck. One of the best things that has ever happened to me! After being out of the field for 4 years I guess I have an itch to learn and I have some ideas of how I can use 3D Animation for my next step on my journey. So I too, am using my free time to learn.

Good Luck to you James!

Hi,

I’m Gerrit. Living in Flanders - Belgium.
Programmer / IT engineer for 25 years. Think it’s time to learn something new and fun. All in free time, at my own - sometimes slow - pace.

Hi, I’m Brock!

I would like to sharpen my programming skills in C++, C# (more of a game designer though) because I have already graduated with a Media Arts and Game Development Bachelor’s Degree. I’m looking to get my Master’s somewhere in game development. I have to keep my skills sharp because if you don’t use them(and let’s face it, you won’t program in your spare time) to maintain them for my masters or a job!

Hi Guys,

I am Gaurav. I am currently staying in Tallahassee, FL. I will be graduating soon. I have decided to introduce myself to game development. I am enrolled in the Unreal course. I look forward to brushing up on C++ and learn how to apply it over to game development. My fascination with Unreal started actually with Arkham series. The graphics are crazy good. Unreal must have some great optimizations or, may be the programmers are awesome as well. Anyway, I want to try and achieve my goal of developing diverse games using Unreal. Just like with music, I want to keep and open mind and analyze more than one genre of games using Unreal. In future, I might try Blender to develop my own models. My motivation currently is to stick with the learning and application process and not give up, as I know and am aware of many barriers ahead. It might sound corny, but, this is just a reminder.

Thanks,
Gaurav Sinha

Hello,

My name is Timothy Hutchinson, I live in Carlsbad CA near San Diego, CA. I just retired as a middle school teacher and had run a game developer’s club where students used Unity and Construct 2. I used the Maya, Unity, Blender and Construct 2 courses to try to stay ahead of my students. Now that I am retired and have the time, I hope to master them.

As a retired teacher, I want to leverage the power of game play to encourage reluctant readers and build games that augment a book. Can you imagine a VR experience that allows you to go on a Lord of the Flies pig hunt?

I’m looking forward to the conversations and possible collaborations in this forum.
Tim

Hello Everyone,

My name is Morgaine and live in the middle of the US. I just signed up to take the The Complete Blender Creator Course. I am a 3D modeling hobbyist with a bit of self-taught Blender usage but feel I am missing out not having a firmer foundation.

I am involved in the virtual world of Second Life and associated OpenSim grids, which has some unique and special requirements for mesh assets and the texturing of those assets. I hope to learn more of unwrapping and using Blender to texture these assets to make my life easier and more efficient.

Hey Everyone, I’m Hayden!

I live in Texas and love software. I’m currently going to college for business marketing and learning software on the side for future business opportunities and ideas I have. I am very excited to make 3D models for light game creation, expression, and business design!

Good luck to everyone, it looks like an in depth topic that will require commitment!

Good morning.

My name is Magnus Elden and I am a young Norwegian man living in Oslo working on a project combining Unreal Engine with scientific visualization. One of the main problems I am going to tackle is rendering a volume while placed as an actor in space. I am thinking about using VTK for the actual calculations and somehow render the volume as you walk around it etc.

I have a lot of experience with C++ and some experience with Unreal. I am currently taking the unreal course that got kickstarted.

Hi everyone,

I’m Josef from Czech Republic.
Right now I’m just trying go through Unreal Course, in future i thinking of Blender course too. I know little programing and 3D modeling, but I want to improve in those skills.

And my aspirations? Games, controllers and some rock’n’roll ideas for accomplish my future plans

Looking forward to getting to know every one!

Hello!

I’m Dino. I am from Serbia.

I’m in Unreal course. After two successful created games in Phaser and Unity, I recently got a job in the company that develops a game in the Unreal engine, so I need to sharpen my skills in Unreal and make shift to C++ language.

Hello,
my name is Jake and I have just joined. I am interested in 3D animation and game development.

Hello!

My name is Javier Cueto, I’m from Hialeah, FL. I’m only in the Unity course, and am learning because I love games, I love making games even more, and I have an idea I want to flesh out.

Good luck, everyone

Hi, I’m Meg Rabbit. I took Alias Wavefront in college, and then got sucked into being a CEO. I’m getting back into design because I miss it, and I have a weird little Unity project I want to pull together.

Hello!
My name is Caleb, I live in Michigan.
I am currently starting the Unity course and have recently purchased the blender course as well. It was sort of an impulse buy, but I have always wanted to build my own sandbox game. Though this will mainly be for my own personal use creating an app game would be really cool as well! So that said I hope I can be of some use to other students as well as enjoy these courses. I have just now completed the intro videos so onto programming!!
