The bake isnt applying

I’m kinda at a loss. i re-did all the steps and even tried the texture coordinate and mapping suggestion i saw on other similar post. the bake isn’t applying. what am i doing wrong

Aren’t you supposed to use a bump map instead of a normal map?

cavity map is next up in the lessons, but theres no mention of a bump map to this point. just went back over the last lesson on baking.
