I experienced a lot of inconsistency in particle behaviour in this exercise. Quite finiky. The furry grass alpha would not go transparent and did not render. Best of luck to all students wrestling with it.

Eevee or Cycles?
Getting transparency set up is harder than it ought to be especially if you do not use it often. I frequently have to look up a quick reminder youtube for the settings. The biggest battle with most things is finding where simple basic stuff is hidden and named as what arcane description. Largely I suppose because of the huge variety of uses of so many tools, it seems logical to those doing different things.
