How about holding down the bumpers causes the tank to go into reverse gear once the track is stopped, meaning you could then use the triggers for analog reverse?
Could use them independently also, holding left bumper and left trigger disengages the brake and reverses the left track while holding just right trigger moves the right track forward and vice versa for quick turning.
Just holding the bumpers would act like a handbrake.
Might be a bit unwieldy for a new player though right enough.
