Wow pretty cool scene. Lots of elements there.
This is called Back-Face Culling it’s a optimization used to improve performance where only the parts of a polygon that “matters” are rendered. Try to put the camera inside a Cube or a Sphere for example. You will notice that they are completely invisible for the camera because the inside “side” is not rendered. This is the reason why when we get stuck inside an object in a game or we fall through the ground we can see the outside. I’ve experience some of this on overwatch some days ago haha .

Yeah, at first I was confused, then I was like, it is probably like in Blender when you have a normal flipped and you render and nothing is there.
