The original idea was to use the dope sheet to make one of those Kung Fu Panda type slo-mo kicks. But to do it properly would need a second camera to zoom in. Possible but was taking too much time.
I think I got the idea of staging and the spotlight seems like a good way to add pathos and a little mystery.
