For the replica challenge, I’ve decided to redraw the Kimono Girl sprite from Pokemon Crystal. Crystal’s always been one of my favorite Pokemon games, so it was an easy selection for me. Here’s the sprite;
I have a little bit of a pixel art background, still this was a good exercise. I’ve struggled with Aseprite more than I struggled with art, but the best way to learn is to experience. The background turned out to be black, the onion skin didn’t show up, at the end of the drawing session, the layer just completely disappeared… Baby steps, baby steps
