Spooky Corridor - ceiling not rendering

I managed to follow every step without issue, but when I tried to render my scene the ceiling appeared entirely black. Does anyone have any idea what I’m missing?

Experiment with a plain colour. I suspect it is just dark, the viewport render uses a built in hdri with adds a world lighting so it will look different to the proper full render.

I have encountered this problem too, difficult to solve (or understand).
I even don’t know if I solved it and how.

  • EEVEE vs Cycles (render both)
  • Make things solid (3D), and not a flat plane.
  • Check normals
  • Check your material node setup. Maybe you setup something with the Z-ax, whereby the texture output renders 0 (black)

I know this one, is hard to solve:

  • start with a simple material/object in the ceiling, adding more step of the process to see where it gets broken.

Trying to solve this will help you understand Blender a bit better!
