Some props for my survival game

I’ve been making some assets for a survival game that I want to make. Each object is less than 180 polys.

I’ve just discovered about baking normal maps in Blender so I’ve been able to add details such as the ribs on the plain can without upping the poly count.

Can you suggest a Tutorial about Baking the normal maps ?

I watched this youtube video.

The only thing that got me was that you have to project the UV onto your blank image before you bake the object. I kept getting “no image or models to bake” error until I found that out.

Thank you Stephen, helps a lot

I’ve made a sardine tin and a new texture for some tinned peaches.

They look really good! I think you did a great work on the plain can with the normal map.

I’ve been working on distressing the tins more.

Added a spec map to remove the halo effect on the label and combined the normal maps so it looks like the dents are on the tin only where the label is torn.
