Hi,
I just started this online course for learning Unity via Udemy. In the first lecture, it said to download version 4.6.9, but that version is not available (at least for Mac). Does anyone know if the 4.6.9 version is necessary or could I continue the Udemy course using the current 5.5 version that I currently have installed on my laptop?

At the top of the download page click on the Unity 4.x link and all of the versions from that major release will be listed.
I can conform that 4.6.9 is available for Mac.
