Slow but steady progress on my lamp

I have been working on my lamp for about a month and a half now. I am challenging myself to produce something that pushes what I have learned to my limit and further.

So far I have learned some additional techniques for more effective ways to create holes or add circles to my mesh aside from just using booleans.
It has been rough, I had weeks spent trying to get it figured out without causing major issues with artifacting, and it’s still not perfect, I managed to do it once but that came with it’s own set of problems after the fact. It’s definitely been a great example of planning ahead and problem solving.

I also found an effective use of pathing to create piping which has been helpful.

So I want to show off the little bit I have finished so far.
The lamp I am making is this steampunk looking walker mech table lamp.

Here is a reference image I am using
