Sin Chart

Visually seeing the data helped me understand what cycle was. I hope this helps.

Remember, cycle is Elapsed Time / Period. 0/20 = 0, 1/20 = 0.05…19/20= 0.95, 20/20 = 1.

If you are still stumped on cycles, think of the cycle number as a percentage.

At Elapsed Time: 10, we have 0.5 for cycle. That is 50% of the Period.
At Elapsed Time: 15, we have 0.75 for cycle. That is 75% of the Period.
At Elapsed Time: 20, we have 1 for cycle. That is 100% of the Period.

If we were to change Period to 40, then:
At Elapsed Time: 10, we would have 0.25 for cycle. That is 25% of the Period.
At Elapsed Time: 15, we would have 0.375 for cycle. That is 37.5% of the Period.
At Elapsed Time: 20, we would have 0.5 for cycle. That is 50% of the Period.
