Trying to learn how to hold back and not get lost in the details, so this is a very crude and simple castle. Iām very happy because I found out how to apply materials to faces

Good model castle.
Getting involved and engrossed is good! You have not started yet, lol, I would be working from plans of a real one and loads of photos. Now lost on a dead computer, my first castle attempt was as accurate as I could get model of Harlech Castle. I spent days searching photos trying to see areas not on the usual shots to check for how it went.
Well done working out face colours before the course tells you how!
