When I use shade smooth on my object, I get weird shapes on it.
What is causing this?
Check the normals.
The overlays menu has a useful tick box to highlight problems with Face orientation. Then (Alt N) recalculate outside if red shows up!
Blue good, red inside out.
Select all Alt N recalculate outside is the fix.
