I have been having trouble with selecting. The xyz arrows don’t automatically move to my current selections. Please help!
If you could add a screen shot of what you are seeing that would go a long way towards helping us help you 
The widget tool cinters on your pivot point. If you switch your pivot point from 3D Cursor to Median the tool should behave as you’re expecting it to.
