I present to you the Saiyan TV!
One of Dr.Geros’ last and brilliant creations. If you are interested in the lore, that can be find in the video description below.
Animating is a blast but weight painting is a pain😅 .
I tried my best though and I think it came out pretty well.
There’s much more to learn but I would love to hear , what are your thoughts on the Saiyan TV?
Weight painting tips are very much welcomed! As well as critics as I want to improve in my future projects.

Wow, such a energetic animation. Beyond the basics and funny too.
Yes, painting is hard. But it is your first try (I think). You get used to it, like all other aspect of Blender.
Well done!

Hehe, thank you!
I really appreciate your feedback and I’m glad that the animation brought a smile to you:grin:. Yeah I think I got carried away with the animation as it was really fun and was able to grow a bit with the knowledge that I learned in the section, especially about solving ‘pinches’. My understanding in weight painting had surely increased a bit but it’s still a problematic:sweat_smile:. I do still consider myself a beginner in Blender as I’ve only been modelling on and off so my skills haven’t really improve by much but with more practice, I’ll get a hand of weight painting, even when the character is clothed as well as texturing, though I don’t know how to make cel shaded/ stylized textures yet:thinking:, which I believe is made by texture painting. Do correct me if I’m wrong.
Thank you for feedback once again😄

Vertex painting is a fun and handy solution. But it only does (diffuse) coloring of the mesh object. With more vertices, more details.
The best solution is is using materials and your model with an UV_Map (unwrapped mesh, from 3D to 2D). With that you can paint (draw) on the model itself. Or using a 2D paint program (Krita, GIMP, InkScape). I use the last a lot. For that I export the UV-Map as a bitmap, to be used as a template for your paint program.
Seeing your effort on animation you should invest time on that. Doing the thing you like the most. I do like animation too, but it’s a lot of work and I have a slow machine. I study things like the video editor of Blender, simple but effective. And how animation works in Blender, using armature assets.
More or less pose templates. And let Blender fill in the movement from one pose to the next pose.
But I do not spend too much time on this. So many other fun things to do!
Have fun!

Nice animation with a little story line and neat music and sound effects.

Thank you very much for advice FedPete. I tried a bit of texture painting using the lower part with Photoshop in a side project and this is how it turned out. (top part of the briefcase)
I think once I get a simple drawing tablet, texture painting will be more fun as mouse okay but has a lot of errors in it.
I’ll for sure keep your advice in mind as well as put them to use in my fellow projects. Thank you and I will for sure
