I saw some really nice scenes on this board and wanted to do them, too. However, I feel like that’s way beyond my ability at the moment to do in a reasonable amount of time, so I stuck with a really simple scene. I also do not know how to do wood material textures either, so I settled with just a flat brown surface.

Applying images to a plane isn’t hard.
It will be explained in the Chess challenge.
So, come back then and improve the bowling ball set.
Others do that too.

A fraction bright perhaps but otherwise a fine render.
Do not worry about other’s posts many have done the course before, others are converting from other software etc. Just post as you go through and get encouragement and advice from the community.

Nice bowling ball scene.
It is more important that you grasp the concepts and learn how to apply them well first. A simple but well implemented scene will beat out any old complex eclectic monstrosity any old day. Your scene shows that you understand the process. As you continue to learn you will easily be able to outdo yourself.

I like how you made the floor less rough like it would be in a bowling alley. I forgot to modify that in mine!
